ACTIVE and EMSI Partnership
Economic Impact Studies come to ACTIVE
ACTIVE has been appointed the sole authorised UK agent for EMSI flagship products, Economic Impact Study (EIS) and Analyst. EMSI provides high-quality employment data and economic analysis via web tools and custom reports to produce comprehensive impact analysis for colleges and universities around the world.
Through this alliance, EMSI will benefit from a local, recognised partner with an existing customer base and ACTIVE will benefit by providing total solutions that plan, target and evaluate the detailed economic impact of Further and Higher Education institutions. The agreement is favourable to over 70 existing EMSI customers as they will receive local support and training along with expert knowledge to help maximise their return on investment.
EMSI’s product offering is a perfect compliment to ACTIVE’s own software, Total Solution Mapping™ (TSM) as EMSI’s products provide the intelligence to help colleges decide their strategic direction and focus; and TSM supports the delivery of the strategic plan through targeting and evaluation.
“In one form or another economic impact analysis has been around in further and higher education for a number of years but there hasn’t been a high level of detail or evaluation to provide enough confidence in the information provided.” said Andrew Crapuchettes, Chief Executive Officer, Economic Modelling Specialists Inc. “Our solutions address this problem by collecting and integrating huge amounts of complex data into user-friendly tools to give institutions the right level of confidence to make business critical decisions and have a positive impact within the local economy. We are delighted to have appointed ACTIVE as our exclusive UK agents.”
Through a better understanding of the regional population, labour market and the students colleges recruit, ACTIVE can help evaluate and improve performance to ensure a maximum return on investment.
Andy Durman, Business Development Manager for Education at ACTIVE said “In times of tightening budgets, education institutions need to ensure that they utilise resources efficiently and can quantify the impact of their decisions. This partnership is not just unique in its exclusivity but it will also provide colleges with a strategic decision making process unavailable anywhere else. Working with EMSI gives ACTIVE a unique position in the UK and the opportunity to provide a truly integrated approach to planning, delivering and measuring the impact of post 16 education.”
About Economic Modeling Specialists Inc.
EMSI started conducting economic impact studies in 2000 (under the name CCbenefits) to show the economic contribution of higher education. This work involved the collection of lots of data on industries, occupations, demographics, etc. The labour market data was found to be really useful and simple web-based tools were built to bring the information together and make it easier to use. Now these tools are supplied to many community colleges, universities, workforce boards, economic development groups, and private industry throughout the U.S. so they can better understand the local employment picture.
