Efficiency savings take pole position
ACTIVE Fire and Rescue User Group
Representatives from 10 fire and rescue services attended the Fire and Rescue User Group in Letchworth last Thursday.
The day started with an demonstration of the upcoming Phoenix V6 changes from Craig White, ACTIVE Business Development Manager for Public Safety.
This was followed by Bob Ford from Dorset FRS sharing the new approach that Dorset has taken to Home Fire Safety Checks, through the use of a tool which station managers are finding very useful to plan local strategies. The result of this new approach has been significant cost and efficiency savings.
After a short break Mark Gallagher from Greater Manchester FRS then presented how the organisation has made progressive financial savings over the last four years using Phoenix.
The business part of the day came to a close with Craig chairing an open discussion on efficiency and how Phoenix and PINPOINT can help fire and rescue services to achieve this.
After the presentations and a brief pit stop for lunch there was a fun afternoon of Go Karting. Congratulations to Mike Baines from Greater Manchester FRS , David Court from Norfolk FRS and Mark Gallagher from Greater Manchester FRS who came first, second and third respectively.
The overall feedback from the day was that now, more than ever, fire and rescue services are focusing on how they can be more resourceful in order to protect public safety and the future of their service.
